Onde deve habitar o oculto no mundo da superexposição?
Este trabalho é uma investigação arqueológica do presente, que a partir do termo e conceito da criptografia, e da raíz "kripto", sigilo ou segredo, remonta a um universo de coreografias do TikTok que utilizam no gesto e na letra da música, bregas, funks e pagodão, o sinal do segredo ou silêncio com as mãos.

A paisagem da instalação, fragmentada por estruturas em tamanho real que nos remetem a portas que se abrem e fecham, é uma arena onde se brinca de esconde-esconde com imagem e som, uma metáfora para a complexidade que diz respeito aos nossos dados pessoais em plataformas como o TikTok e à necessidade humana de alcançar e partilhar as nossas vidas, com a consciência simultânea de que algumas coisas devem ser mantidas privadas e, portanto, não disponíveis para o processo de mercantilização.
Onde guardamos nossos segredos? Que realidades só são possíveis através do ato de se esconder? Que cosmovisões só foram transmitidas através da criação de estruturas de codificações de mistério e segredo para sobreviver?
A peça sonora que acompanha, em colaboração com Anti Ribeiro, é composta por cinco canções como texturas inelegíveis que se constroem como se entrássemos num espaço subterrâneo, como uma escavação

Where should the hidden dwell in the world of overexposure?
The video and sound installation, Mountain Of Secrets (2023) by Brazilian artist biarritzzz discusses the contradiction between privacy and overexposure in the Internet realm.
The artist records hundreds of TikTok users who dance choreographies of Brazilian baile funk, brega funk and pagodão baiano songs that talk about hiddenness, and doing things out of people’s sight. The lyrics are mostly about cheating, and they use a “shush” or “secrecy” sign with their hands and faces. The videos confront the viewer with these GIFs, appearing and disappearing in quick succession on the beat of the songs as you walk around the installation.
The installation landscape, fragmented by these life-size structures that remind us of doors opening and closing, is thus an arena where you play hide and seek with both image and sound, a metaphor for the complexity that concerns our personal data on platforms like TikTok, the human need to reach out and share our lives, with a simultaneous awareness that some things should be kept private and thus not available for the process of being commodified. Where do we keep our secrets? What realities are only made possible through the act of hiding? What cosmovisions were only passed forward by creating structures of mystery and secrecy encodings in order to survive?
The accompanying sound piece in collaboration with Anti Ribeiro, is made from five songs as ineligible textures that are constructed as if we are entering a subterraneous space, like an excavation from what the artist considers an excerpt of an archeology of the present.
